On Thursday, April 19, 2018, the Government of New Brunswick announced a new Palliative Care Strategy for the province.

“This strategy is a good initiative and long overdue.  We are pleased to see residential hospice integrated into the palliative program of care and look forward to the changes that will need to be made to increase the occupancy rate of our residential hospice and better utilize acute care hospital beds.  At present, this is a great philosophy and direction that will require an investment of resources and changes in the healthcare system to deliver on it”, said Sandy Maxwell, CEO of Hospice Greater Saint John
