Fundraising Events

Hospice fundraising events help us raise awareness, as well as the funds needed to provide our programs and services. The enthusiastic support of our volunteers, donors and supporters is very important to our success. Great fun for a great cause! That’s what our fundraising events are all about at Hospice Greater Saint John. Each year, Hospice hosts:



Angels Remembered   Angels Remembered is a special event hosted by Hospice Greater Saint John that gives people the opportunity to remember and honour their loved ones. Held annually for two weeks prior to Christmas, people can place an angel on one the Hospice Christmas trees in memory of or in honour loved ones for a donation of any amount to Hospice. There are seven Angels Remembered sites in the greater Saint John area: McAllister Place; Saint John Regional Hospital; Sobey’s Rothesay; Lancaster Mall; Guardian Drugs; Wyndham Worldwide Call Centre; and, Wal-Mart.
     

  The Valentine Gala is held annually on the Saturday just prior to Valentine’s Day. Over 400 people attend our largest fundraiser and Saint John's  "party of the season." The evening begins with cocktails, followed by a special dinner, a Live Auction and musical entertainment. Our popular Silent Auction runs all evening. Tickets are $100/person. For details click here.
   

  
Hike for Hospice
   Hike for Hospice is held annually in May. People can walk, run and hike in memory of loved ones. Registration is $25 and pledge sheets are available. The top three fundraisers win a special prize. The top fundraising team wins the Bayshore Cup. The top student fundraiser wins a $500 bursary. At the end of the Hike, hikers enjoy a barbecue at Bobby's Hope House.
   
 
Play Cards
   Play Cards for Hospice – Hosted by The Friends of Hospice Play cards, games, bridge, etc. with friends at home or at organized events in the month of March & April. It costs only $5/person to play and everyone is eligible for the special prize draw.
     
Play Cards
   Play Cards Luncheon – Hosted by The Friends of Hospice Enjoy a very special luncheon with friends and play cards—only $10/person! Held every May.
