How You Can Help

We all want to make a difference - to help friends in need. And, we’d like to know that something we have done has been important to the lives of others. When you invest in the work of Hospice Greater Saint John, you help people when they need it the most – many of whom may be your friends, neighbours and loved ones.

Few of us are prepared to face a life threatening illness or the loss of a loved one. Hospice provides 24-hour medical care and non-medical support services that help others find comfort, meaning, dignity and hope when faced with the difficult journey of living with dying and coping with loss. What more precious gift can you give to another?

To make or renew a gift to the Hospice, call us at (506) 632-5593. We are pleased to accept Visa donations over the telephone or download our Donation Form on this site and e-mail, fax or mail your donations in. You also have the option of making a secure online gift  with any credit card on our donations page.

Here are some other ways that you can make a difference today:

• Honour a loved one who has died by leaving a lasting gift with a Memorial Donation. Area funeral homes   have Hospice Memorial Cards, or call yours into Hospice today – 632-5593.

• Join our Monthly Giving Program. “Your monthly donation of $5, $10, $15 or $20 (or whatever amount fits   your budget) is an easy way to support Hospice and make a tremendous difference. I am able to give a   larger annual donation to Hospice, because only a small amount comes out of my monthly budget. Try it. You’ll see how easy it is to make a big difference!” - Sandy Johnson, Executive Director.

• Whenever you want to say thank you, congratulations, or pay tribute to someone you care about, make a   donation to Hospice in their name. Hospice will send a card to the family to let them know about your gift

• Help Hospice plan for the future and leave a lasting legacy for your community. When you are planning   your estate, consider supporting Hospice with a bequest in your will.

• For special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries and retirements, suggest donations to      Hospice in lieu of gifts.

• Donate a gift of securities such as stocks, bonds or mutual funds. As of May 2006, gifting securities are  no longer subject to capital gains tax. And, Hospice will give you a tax receipt for your gift.
